GPU rental rates, energy prices, and data-center capacity are the cost floor under every token you buy. When power gets expensive and chips get scarce, the labs eventually pass it through. When compute supply expands, prices drift down and your next contract should reflect it.
You do not need to trade on any of this. But a CFO who understands that AI pricing is downstream of energy and silicon will forecast better, time commitments smarter, and avoid locking in a long contract right before the floor drops.
